Greek History: Athens and Sparta

This course is a study of Greek history in the Archaic and Classical periods with a particular focus on Athens and Sparta. Topics include the rise of the city-state system, the formation of an alliance of Peloponnesian states under the leadership of Sparta, and the rise of Athens and Athenian imperialism. Students may not retain credit for both ANCS 3416 and ANCS 4416. PREREQ: 9 cr ANCS courses or instructor's permission (lec/sem 3, cr 3).
